Welcome, thank you for visiting, I’m Amy. You’ll find my heart here — which is mostly with my children and teaching them to learn and love. I pray I can be a resource and encouragement to other parents and teachers.
{Check out our free 50+ printables here.}
I am blessed with my two angels: John ( 8/10 ) and May ( 9/12 ), and my husband, Marshall {their middle names}.
I am always learning.
I love to teach and nurture my children — I am blessed to be their constant as a stay-at-home mom.
I am passionate about early literacy and phonics and music — I have a Masters in Elementary Education, studied voice performance, and am a former Kindergarten teacher.
I am passionate about health, not medicine — I am a former vegan but now love and crave the goodness of saturated fat from animals. I love to eat. I don’t count calories.
I am passionate about homebirth and breastfeeding and cloth diapering and gentle parenting — but many of my friends “cry it out” and I don’t think they are horrible moms. I believe a baby is a baby who deserves to live and to live whole.
I am passionate about Israel and America {and I’m a Sergeant First Class in the Army Reserve}.
I love to laugh, easy craft, cook, eat, talk politics, garden/kill plants, argue and debate.
I am stubborn, but still loved and sought after by my Creator and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
I pray that I serve God with my words — and that my time spent here will not be time taken away from Him or my family.

I am sitting here at my computer (on pinterest shhh..) at 3 am and came across you. I am amazed! To be honest, I had bad thoughts about home school. I am mother to 3 grown children. When I had them I was so busy just trying to keep my house clean, I left “teaching ” them stuff to my mother (the teacher) and then public school. Now I am a “Ya-Ya” to a three year old and she spends her days with me. I was just lost and a little frustrated as to exactly what to do with her. I will be back to read more and apply your experiences to make my Kamani ready for school. Thank you! LaChen Brown
Wow, I am so humbled that our “school” inspired you — all of the wonderful homeschool mom blogs have also inspired me! Just start very small — with one small activity a day, or a week. Thank you for your kind words, and I pray that it will be, above all, a bonding time and FUN for both you and Kamani! This post really inspired me: http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.net/2009/06/behind-scenes-where-do-i-begin/
Lovely About Me page! You have a precious little family. I keep having thoughts about cloth diapering my 4th baby that is coming soon, but I just don’t think I have it in me. I am also a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom. You have a delightful blog. :)
Hi Amy,
I landed on your blog through your alphabet Lego cards on Pinterest. (Very cool idea – can’t wait to try with my little guy.) Then, I recognized your picture! I’m not sure if you remember me from Cru. Anyways, I appreciate your blog. Thanks for sharing your talent with the blogosphere. Blessings to you!
Hi Erika!! Yes, it is so great to hear from you — and your blog is beautiful! Hope you’re doing well ♥
Thank you for making available the upper case Lego Letters free of charge! I also love your flowers! You are very generous.

Hello!! I love the way you transform toys into educational material!!!!
Hi, Amy . thank God that you are gifted with this ministry.
Hello, Amy,
What a wonderful website you have. I can tell you were/are a teacher of preschoolers. Your ideas are so adorable. I am a retired special education educator (elementary age level) and now have a 10-month old grandson. I am trying to create different sensory experiences for him. I came across your felt alphabet animals, which I LOVE! I am going to create an animal alphabet book based on some of your animals. Here’s my question: For the backing…..If I use felt and Velcro as a way to “mount” the animals into a book, how can I put the felt “pages” together to make them into a book? I am at a loss and am wondering how you put all the animals together into one book? Because of their weight, I can’t use card stock and am not sure of the felt backing either.
I welcome your ideas.
Thanks so much, Amy. Good luck to you!
