Here is our felt animal for letter J — a Jellyfish! We only have ten more animals to go in our series: ABC Felt Animals. My children love their felt animals and this project has really helped to reinforce beginning sounds, so we are plugging along!

Though they take some time and effort, the felt animals have been well worth it. They develop phonemic awareness and help children learn and create and imagine. Our jellyfish is a part of our sea creature collection! I hope you enjoy learning how to make a felt jellyfish!!

All you need to make a Felt Jellyfish is:

felt: purple, white (or you can use paper!)
cotton balls
hot glue gun (or Elmer’s if you’re just using colored paper)
amazing Fiskar scissors (if you’re going to work with felt at all, you have to check these scissors out!)

** This craft uses a hot glue gun — please keep out of the reach of children — these are for adult use only!!**

We cut out the body template twice, and then I cut about ten tentacles in contrasting colors.

Next, I glued the tentacles to one of the bodies, glued cotton balls inside, and glued them together.The finished jellyfish.We decided to get all of our felt ocean animals together and make a sea world.
